Podcasting has exploded in the last 5+ years, and it is a great resource for any suppression campaign. At the core, a podcast episode is a voice recording, and a podcasting channel is a website page that hosts all those recordings. Once episodes are loaded to the podcasting channel, the channel as a whole can be submitted for syndication (submitted to be shared on major podcasting platforms). This means a podcast channel can then be picked up and placed in the library of huge podcasting platforms such as Audible, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music and more.
With the worldwide reach of these major podcasting platforms, your podcast now has the ranking power to show up in search results high on Google’s page, in turn, suppressing target articles down the page. Because the podcast syndication places the podcast on multiple platforms, a suppression client could see multiple results of their podcast in a Google search from different platforms, suppressing target articles down even further.
